The Canadian Hub for Health Intelligence and Innovation in Infectious Diseases (HI3) is a University of Toronto-led coalition of over 80 partners that brings globally-recognized scientific research, cross-disciplinary talent pipeline, collaborative IP co-creation and talent training, vibrant translational ecosystem supporting commercialization, rich patient cohorts and patient samples, clinical trial recruitment and participation, and health monitoring and intelligence.
HI3 leverages its partners’ strengths, existing assets, and contributions to collaboratively address existing challenges in biologic translation and commercialization through its objectives that will be realized through the three Research Themes in Precision Intervention, Process Innovation, and Health Intelligence with cross-cutting capacities in established and coordinated pathogen surveillance networks; preclinical models and clinical trial execution; and predictive modelling.
Create, translate and manufacture vaccines and therapeutics to meet diverse needs of Canadians.
HI3 mandate is to address challenges that impede timely translation and commercialization of vaccines, biologics and diagnostics as well as development of the industry-ready workforce to fill current and future biomanufacturing jobs:
